This is the Beginning

This is the Beginning

Being new to the blogger scene is a start for everyone, so here comes the Noob. A 31 year old Frenchman who simply want to live a better life like anyone else. Of course in due time things will be more personal, but not right now. Right now is a time of introduction, so let's do that and go right for the nice stuff.

I'm born in 1981, October 13, Been a gamer all my life, started with Pong, then Coleco Vision, a little of Atari, then came the Nintendo Entertainment System revolution. It was a highlight in many people's lives. At the time, a game could go up to an hundred bucks but the console if my information is correct, after all i was like four at the time (got the console for Christmas i think, that would make sense) would be around 300.00$.

Yeah it was a lot, some game could take me a month to complete, some other 3 days, and some were damn too hard. I became in the next few years a digital child, always plugged on my NES. I didn't have many friend until later except for my extended Family ( back on that topic later! ) but i had the cool stuff! My folks who loved me so much, got me Rob (Robotic Operating Buddy) and i played with it...not that much! Of course I had the Zapper, played Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley, and much later the Power Glove. Back then i was Innocent but still it makes me happy to remember all this stuff.

At First i was alone then came all the rest of the Family, my little Sister Patricia, who today got a baby girl named Shaïma and a second one on the way, and then all the cousins on my mother's side were born, some of them i have seen often, others irregularly. i saw my father's side of the family only rarely, and it was a pain in the *** just knowing i had to go there, since they were more old fashioned and they didn't enjoy video games i well as i did. I know i got numerous cousins but i was much closer to my mother's side of the family.

The rest will be told later, lets just say i had my teen years on SNES, Genesis, Turbo Graphic 16, Sega CD, gameboy and all the rest of the video games who got out, except Nintendo 64, because right there i had already tasted what the CD games were like, and i was thinking  why the hell going again with those old Cartridge. Then Playstation filled the gaps. got my Xbox later on, Ps2 and recently a 3DS, that pretty much sums it up.

But appart from games, I wasn't a popular kid , at 8 I already in my third primary school, from the start i had no interest about what the teacher's were saying, what was expected of me in life or anything like that. I was happy being with my family, and my games. It was enough for me. We were living right next to my Grandmother's house and all the neighborhood was close to family. Then i met David, my oldest friend who was also a gamer and this friendship became another turning point, because he initiated me to RPG's. Not Faxanadu, not Zelda, not Final Fantasy and i could include many other titles. We are talking here about Pen and Paper Rpg, which is Dungeon's and Dragons second edition. Right there, at 12 years old, i discovered something enjoyable as video games. This was my Second big call. i'm still playing today, but not often as i would like.

After that came the Cadet Corps. I did that for as long as i enjoyed it , which is four years. When i became 14, and things got more serious, i decided i didnt want the serious part of it, then i left. When i left i was about to go into the teen corps , but in the tween i got promoted to be the second highest ranking a cadet could obtain. Many officer's there wanted to see me go far, get recruted and all the stuff. but i dont like the military.

After that i got to highschool, took music classes, played trumpet for 2 years, tried to go to the highschool music club but i was not passionate about it. The entire highschool period was a pain in the ass for everyone. A few people and me did stupid things of course, but right then i didn't even smoked. Never touched a cigarette, much less weed. I say that because, since i didnt gave a shit about anyone or their expectation back then, they sent me to see the social worker. I made only one appointment, then i dropped out of school , i was in my third years of highschool, was supposed to be if i applied myself with the rest of my friend in their last years. i was 17 at the time and i was pissed off at pretty much everyone. I wanted to live life the way it made sense for me. Not their standard.

I also discovered at 16 years old the joys of Live Action Role Playing (LARP) where i made lots of friend, many people who gave me good times and who are still today a part of my life. So when i was 16 , it was a glipse in a world where i felt home. So like i said, at that point, highschool was WAY behind in the back of my mind. I did Larp for almost 14 years on and off. In 14 years of course got a little more serious, took time for finish up highschool but had so much trouble doing so because to simply focus on in was a serious problem. I finished high school education at the age of 28. I tried some college but in honesty if i feel no passion i get bored.

This Pretty much sums it up. Last two great friends i made are Stephan and Nicholas, who both worked with me in a mcdonald and we decided to tag along.
